Trip Overview

Everest Region or Khumbu Region offers some best and classic treks filled with adventure and thrill. Trekking to the three high passes in the Everest Region is one of the demanding and highly rewarding treks as it takes you through the passes over 5000m, offering you an exceptional view of the surrounding areas. In addition to crossing Kongma La Pass (5535 m), Cho La (5380 m), and Renjo La (5388 m), you will also have the opportunity to step up to Kalapatthar, the best viewpoint in the region offering 360 degrees panoramic views of all gigantic peaks. Join us on our trek to three high passes in the Everest Region for an unforgettable experience.

The journey starts with a short scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Then, our trek starts with the walk through the Sherpa settlements up to Phakding along the Dudhkoshi River. We will consecutively explore Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Kongma La, Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, Cho La, Gokyo lakes, Lungden, and Renjo La pass. The overall trek is a complete package of thrill, adventure, fun, extreme pain, and test of endurance.

Ultimately, the three high passes trek gives you an immensely beautiful experience of exploring the unique Sherpa culture, the century-old Tengboche monastery, hidden corners of Dingboche, the mesmerizing view from Kalapatthar, the intoxicating sceneries from Everest Base Camp, and electrifying traverse through the three high passes above 5000m.

Along with the fun comes risks as well. Therefore, one must be highly fit and must have the experience of trekking in higher altitudes. Besides physical fitness and wellbeing, one must also be mentally prepared for the remoteness and harsh climate that nature will put forward.

The best season to go on Three High Passes Trek is during March to May and September to November when the weather is favorable with a clear sky, the temperature is moderate and forests are green and dense. The views of the gigantic snow-covered peaks are clearly visible during these months that are stunning.

Trip Notes

Please do remember these things.

Climbers are advised to prepare and train their bodies and mind in a perfect way to adapt to the remoteness, high altitude, and distance from the families. It is also advised to carry lesser amounts of valuable belongings. Also, pack in some cotton clothes for your stay in Kathmandu while some warm ones for the Himalayas. Always keep a copy of your passport and photos with you.

Trekking and mountain climbing in the Everest Region are highly dependent on weather conditions. We try to schedule our trips at the most favorable time but in case of extreme scenarios, domestic flights to Lukla may be delayed or canceled. In cases as such, we would like to notify you that except for the total number of days in the itinerary section, expenses of other extra days shall be borne by the client himself/herself. However, 8K Expeditions will make necessary arrangements for the accommodation of porters and guides. If you wish to make alternative arrangements such as a helicopter flight to avoid flight delays, we can arrange it at a nominal extra charge.

Also, 8K Expeditions shall not be liable for any compensation for losses due to missed International Flights but we will surely help to make necessary arrangements to minimize your loss. To avoid missing flights, we suggest keeping some flexible time frames before trip departure and after trip departure.

Also be notified that as we will be traveling in remote areas with extreme climatic conditions and geography where trails can be distorted at times, we might need to adjust our itineraries as required.  But we assure you that the quality of service shall not be compromised at any cost.

Thank you for joining us on our Expedition and Trekkings!!
