Himlung Himal Expedition 2026: 8K Team Begins Its Journey to 7,126m

The 8K Expeditions Himlung Expedition 2026 team departed from Kathmandu today, officially beginning its journey towards Himlung Himal (7,126 m).

The expedition is led by IFMGA Mountain Guide Pema Chhiring Sherpa, bringing professional mountain leadership and technical expertise to the team as it prepares for the challenges ahead.

Following their departure from Kathmandu, the team will continue its journey towards the mountain, with preparations guided by prevailing weather conditions, route accessibility, and essential safety considerations. Additional climbers are expected to join the expedition in the coming days.

Himlung Himal, standing at 7,126 metres, is a significant high-altitude mountaineering destination in Nepal. The expedition requires careful planning, proper acclimatization, and experienced mountain support to navigate the demanding conditions of the Himalayas.
