Trip Overview

Join Eight K Expeditions for an unforgettable adventure to Thorong Peak. Nestled in Nepal’s famous Annapurna Region, this high-altitude trek offers the thrill of summiting Thorong Peak (6,144 m) combined with the rich cultural experience of trekking the renowned Annapurna Circuit. While many dream of summiting 8,000-meter giants like Mt. Everest, starting with a peak like Thorong offers an ideal beginning to high-altitude climbing with manageable elevation and minimal risk.  Thorong Peak allows amateur climbers to gain essential mountaineering skills and understand their body’s response to altitude, making it a perfect stepping stone for more ambitious Himalayan goals. This journey takes you through remote Himalayan landscapes, immersing you in the vibrant ancient villages of Pisang and Manang, before crossing the breathtaking Thorong La pass. Reaching the summit rewards climbers with mesmerizing views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, leaving them with lasting memories of a remarkable adventure.

Best Season to Climb Thorong Peak in 2025

The ideal seasons for reaching the summit of Thorong Peak are Spring (March, April, and May) and Autumn (September, October, and November). During these months, the weather is more stable, winds are gentle, and the skies are often a vivid blue, providing clear, breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. These conditions create an ideal and safer environment for climbers.

For the most rewarding experience, we recommend planning your Thorong Peak adventure in Spring or Autumn when conditions are at their best.

Trip Notes

Please do remember these things.

Climbers are advised to prepare and train their bodies and mind in a perfect way to adapt to the remoteness, high altitude, and distance from their families. It is also advised to carry lesser amounts of valuable belongings. Also, pack some cotton clothes for your stay in Kathmandu and some warm ones for the Himalayas. Always keep a copy of your passport and photos with you.

Trekking and mountain climbing in the Annapurna Region are highly dependent on weather conditions. 8K Expeditions will make necessary arrangements for the accommodation of porters and guides. If you wish to make quick arrangements such as a helicopter flight to avoid hassles, we can arrange it at a nominal extra charge.

Also, 8K Expeditions shall not be liable for any compensation for losses due to missed International Flights but we will surely help to make necessary arrangements to minimize your loss. To avoid missing flights, we suggest keeping some flexible time frames before trip departure and after trip departure.

Also be notified that as we will be traveling in remote areas with extreme climatic conditions and geography where trails can be distorted at times, we might need to adjust our itineraries as required. But we assure you that the quality of service shall not be compromised at any cost.
