Mount Everest Summit Route Officially Fixed For Spring 2026 Climbing Season

EVEREST SUMMIT ROUTE OFFICIALLY OPENED!

📍13 May 2026 at 10:25 AM | Mount Everest Expedition Update.

After weeks of challenging weather, dangerous conditions, and relentless effort in the high Himalayas, the summit route to the top of Mount Everest (8,848.86 m) has now been officially fixed and opened under the coordination of the Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOA) through the united efforts of various expedition companies and dedicated Sherpa teams this season.

With the route now reaching the summit of the world’s highest mountain, the most awaited phase of the Spring 2026 Everest season has officially begun. Teams from around the world are now preparing for their final summit pushes while closely monitoring the upcoming weather windows.

Last spring, 8kexpeditions proudly served as the official rope-fixing team for both Everest (8,848.86 m) and Lhotse (8,516 m) during the 2025 successful climbing season, a responsibility carried out with dedication, strength, and teamwork in one of the harshest environments on Earth.

We are also proud to share that all members of our team have successfully completed their acclimatization rotations, and final preparations for the summit push are now underway. In the coming days, weather permitting, our climbers will begin their journey toward the roof of the world.

A huge respect to every Sherpa, guide, Icefall Doctor, Airlifted Nepal, rope-fixing team, and expedition leader working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this season possible, especially Dawa Dai.

Wishing all climbers and expedition teams a safe, successful, and unforgettable ascent this Everest Season 2026.
