Annapurna I Expedition With Mera Peak Climbing

Trip Overview

Annapurna I Expedition with Mera Peak Climbing is for those who dream big, climb with purpose and are ready to test their limits on two of Nepal’s most iconic peaks, Mera Peak (6,476m) and Annapurna I (8,091m). It’s a journey that blends physical preparation, adventure and Himalayan grandeur into one unforgettable experience.

We begin with Mera Peak, a beautiful 6,476-meter mountain nestled in the remote Hinku Valley of eastern Nepal. Though considered a trekking peak, Mera demands real mountaineering effort, with its long glacier approach and icy summit ridge. The trek itself is stunning passing through lush forests, quiet Sherpa villages and vast alpine valleys rarely visited by other trekkers. Mera gives us time to properly acclimatize and prepare our minds and bodies for what lies ahead. Standing on the summit of Mera Peak, you can see five of the world’s 8,000-meter giants Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kangchenjunga spread across the horizon.

After a well-earned descent and rest in Kathmandu, we head west to face the real challenge: Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain on Earth at 8,091 meters. Annapurna is one of the most respected and dangerous 8000ers, known for its steep slopes, avalanche-prone terrain and technical demands. But for those who are well-prepared physically, mentally and emotionally and it offers one of the most rewarding climbing experiences in the world.

The climb typically follows the Northwest Ridge, where we gradually establish higher camps up the mountain. The route is both beautiful and serious featuring icefalls, crevasses and towering seracs. Success depends on good judgment, team coordination, careful weather planning and a strong support crew. You will move with experienced Sherpas, share tents at high altitude and push toward the summit as a united team, relying on each other every step of the way.

Climbing Mera Peak first gives your body time to adjust to high altitude and lets you build strength and confidence. It’s a smart and safe way to increase your chances on Annapurna.

Beyond the climbing, this journey is also about culture, landscapes, and inner growth. From flying into Lukla to walking through rhododendron forests, crossing high passes, and witnessing Himalayan sunrises, every moment is rich with meaning.

This is more than just a climb. It’s a full-circle expedition from 6,000 meters to over 8,000 designed for those who seek challenge, adventure and a connection with the wild beauty of Nepal’s high Himalayas.
