Lhakpa Sherpa aka Everest Queen has made historical summit feat on Mt. K2 (8,611m) on 27th July 2023 at 11:46am local time.
She has climbed Mt. Everest ten times, the most of any woman in the world. Her record-breaking tenth climb was on May 12, 2022. After this, She became the first Nepali woman to climb Mt. Everest 10 times successfully and now has connquered Mt. K2, notoriously known as Savage Mountain.
In mountaineering history, the accomplishment of a woman climbing Mt. K2- The second highest peak in the world is rare. This marks a huge turning point . It proves that both men and women are equally capable of taking big challenge and succeeding in difficult tasks like high-altitude mountaineering. This accomplishment not only showcases the climber's willpower, diligence, and preparation but also represents the potential and ability of all women.
Her feat on such a high summit undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to all mountaineers.
