Manaslu Summit Route Fixed And Open For Autumn 2026

We are pleased to announce that the summit route of Mount Manaslu (8,163 m) has been successfully fixed and is now officially open for the Autumn 2026 climbing season.

Under the management of the Expedition Operators Association (EOA), the dedicated rope-fixing team, including two experienced guides from 8K Expeditions, successfully reached the summit today at 9:25 PM Nepal time.

This achievement came despite challenging conditions. Yesterday, an avalanche above Camp 3 swept away approximately 1,200 meters of fixed rope and essential climbing equipment. In response, three Sherpas from 8K Expeditions and one Sherpa from Fourteen Peaks immediately carried nearly 1,300 meters of replacement rope, along with snow bars, ice screws, carabiners, ice tools and other necessary equipment back to Camp 3, helping the fixing operation continue without delay.

EOA Rope-Fixing Team:

1. Chhiring Bhote (Leader)
2. Furi Sherpa
3. Karma Sarki Sherpa
4. Lopsang Bhote
5. Ngima Sherpa
6. Pam Dorjee Sherpa
7. Pasang Gyaljen Sherpa

8K Expeditions Team:

1. Karma Gyaljen Sherpa
2. Tasi Sherpa

Our sincere appreciation goes to every member of the rope-fixing and supporting teams whose hard work, courage and teamwork made this achievement possible.

With the summit route now officially open, we wish all climbers, guides, Sherpas, and supporting teams a safe and successful Manaslu 2026 climbing season.
