Manaslu Expedition Autumn 2026 Officially Begins - 8K Expeditions

Our Manaslu Expedition Autumn 2026 has officially started. On 2nd September, 2026 our first expedition team departed from Kathmandu and began its journey toward Mount Manaslu.

With months of preparation behind us, our climbers and experienced mountain team now begin their journey toward Manaslu Expedition (8,163 m). Our team includes members, climbers, guides, and expedition staff. They are following a carefully planned route to support a safe and successful expedition. The journey to Manaslu will include several important stages, including travel, acclimatization, preparation, and mountain climbing.

Before leaving Kathmandu, our founders, Mr. Lakpa Sherpa-Expedition Leader, and Mr. Lakpa Thendu Sherpa, offered khatas and best wishes to all team members. The ceremony marked an important beginning for the expedition and reflected our respect for the mountain and the team’s dedication.

All members attended the pre-expedition briefing held yesterday. The briefing was led by our founders and manager. During the meeting, the team reviewed important information about the route, safety procedures, responsibilities, equipment, and expedition plans. This preparation will help the team work together during every stage of the journey.

All required permits were issued on September 1, 2026. The permit issuance officially marked the beginning of our Autumn 2026 Manaslu Expedition. Standing at 8,163 meters, Mount Manaslu is one of the highest and most respected mountains in the world.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CLIMBING & TREKKING COMMUNITY:

We would also like to reassure climbers, trekkers and travelers planning to visit Nepal that trekking and climbing destinations across the country remain safe and open for tourism, with the exception of areas currently affected in Rasuwa District.

All 8K Expeditions Autumn 2026 climbing and trekking programs will proceed as scheduled, according to their planned dates and itineraries.

We are ready for the season ahead and look forward to welcoming adventurers from around the world to the Himalayas.
