International Everest Day 2026 – Record Summit Success & Spring Season Highlights

73rd INTERNATIONAL EVEREST DAY 2026

"A Historic Season, A Legendary Legacy"

On 29 May 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first humans to stand on the summit of Mt. Everest (8,848.86m). Their achievement created a legacy of courage, partnership, and respect for the Himalayas.

73 years later, that same spirit carried us all through Spring Himalayan Season 2026, one of the most challenging and most rewarding seasons in recent memory, marked by the highest number of permits issued & summit success record in Everest expedition history.

Despite a delayed start in the Khumbu Icefall, the collective grit of icefall doctors, Sherpa climbing guides, expedition teams, and support crews opened the route safely. We were also fortunate with more weather windows than expected.
