Trip Overview

Naya Khang, also ingenuously known as Ganja La Chuli bestows an ineffable trekking experience in the least trodden Langtang Region of Northern Nepal. The expedition to this peak is known to be one of the closest from the capital city which lies west of Ganjala Pass (5,110m). Elevated at an altitude of 5,844 meters, the peak has been categorized as a non-technical climb that demands an average level of fitness to accomplish the summit. The path follows the popular Langtang Valley where one can relish the enthralling views of Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Yala Peak (5,500), Pemathang Ri (6,836m), Langtang Lirung (7,425m), Langshisha Ri (6,370m), Shishapangma (8,064m) and numerous Tibetan mountains.

Apart from the scenic elegance, the trek also grants an unprecedented cultural experience. The place is rich in Buddhist-Tibetan culture where numerous ancient gompas like Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) and monasteries bless thousands of trekkers every year. Moreover, Naya Khang is considered slightly tougher than other climbing peaks in Nepal which pristinely offers some grandiose sights of the highest mountain in entire Tibet, Shishapangma (8,064m), and the Jugal Himal Ranges. If luck favors, one can truly cherish the rarest sight of Red Pandas in the Langtang Region.  Thus, it is one of the most convenient trekking peaks for those who are seeking to initiate their mountaineering career; frequently summited after climbing Yala Peak (5,500m).

Best Seasons to climb Naya Khang:

The most favorable seasons to climb Naya Khang are Autumn(October-November) and Spring (March-May) as the weather remains clear and mild in these times.
