Trip Overview

Chulu East Peak, the prominent peak in the Chulu range, within the Annapurna massif, also the part of larger Damodar Himal is one of the most gorgeous and frequently climbed peaks above 6000 m. Located in the upper part of the beautiful Manang valley, the trek to this stunning peak is combined with the Annapurna Circuit Trek taking the travelers into rich villages inhabited by Gurungs, Sherpas, Thakalis, Mananges, and Tibetan immigrants. The trek is an exceptional opportunity to explore the local culture and traditions practiced and carried forward from generation to generation.

First scaled in 1955 by a German Expedition team, Chulu East Peak is a technically straightforward and demanding peak. Anyone willing to embark on any peak Climbing adventure must possess sound physical and mental health with strong endurance and physical fitness. The climb to the summit of the peak is considered to be a technical one requiring walking with fixed ropes on a 900 m slope till the summit. The top of the summit offers mesmerizing views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tilicho peak, and many more in the periphery.

The trek on the Annapurna Circuit takes the travelers through some of the most beautiful villages with centuries-old traditions, unique culture, and traditional ways of farming and living as well. Most parts of the trekking trail are rugged and off-the-beaten as they fall in the remote areas of Nepal. The area lies in the rain shadow areas formed by the main Annapurna Himal which makes it convenient to travel even in the monsoon season where most other peaks do not attract many visitors in this season. Besides the jaw-dropping views of the Giant snow-capped peaks and dramatic landscapes, the other highlights of the trek are crossing the Thorong La pass, one of the highest passes, visiting the Muktinath temple, staying in awesome Jomsom village, and exploring the hidden gems of the Manang valley.

The best seasons to go on Chulu East Peak Climbing are Spring, Autumn, and Monsoon as well.

Eight K Expedition has a fully competent team of highly experienced Sherpas and other staff who will make your travel adventurous, memorable, and the best one.
